After you install the Apple Internet Connection Kit (AICK), some files may have been saved to the 'Backup Folder' located in the 'Internet Connection Kit' folder of your hard disk.
These files are as follows:
• Netscape Preferences and bookmarks.html (if Navigator has been previously installed)
• Bookmarks and Fetch Prefs (if Fetch has been previously installed)
• MacTCP Prep (if MacTCP has been previously installed)
• PPP Preferences (if PPP has been previously installed)

Restoring Netscape Navigator Preferences
The files 'Netscape Preferences' and 'bookmarks.html' are used with the Netscape Navigator application. To restore your original Netscape Navigator bookmarks and preferences, perform the following steps:
1. Quit the Netscape Navigator application if it is currently running.
2. Open the 'Backup Folder' folder located in the 'Internet Connection Kit' folder.
3. Open the 'Netscape ƒ' folder.
4. Select the files 'Netscape Preferences' and 'bookmarks.html'.
5. Drag these files to the 'Netscape ƒ' folder located in the 'Preferences' folder inside your System Folder.
6. A dialog will appear asking you if you want to replace these existing items. Click OK.
7. Start the Netscape Navigator application.
8. Your old preferences and bookmarks should now appear.
Restoring Fetch Bookmarks and Preferences
The files 'Bookmarks' and 'Fetch Prefs' are used with the Fetch application. To restore your original Fetch bookmarks and preferences, perform the following steps:
To Restore Fetch Bookmarks:
1. Quit the Fetch application if it is currently running.
2. Open the 'Backup Folder' folder located inside the 'Internet Connection Kit' folder.
3. Open the 'Fetch' folder.
4. Open the 'Internet Applications' folder located in the 'Internet Connection Kit' folder.
5. Drag the 'Bookmarks' file to the 'Fetch' folder located in the 'Internet Applications' folder.
6. A dialog will appear asking you if you want to replace these items. Click OK.
7. Start the Fetch application.
8. Your old bookmarks should now appear.
To Restore Fetch Preferences:
1. Quit the Fetch application if it is currently running.
2. Open the 'Backup Folder' folder located inside the 'Internet Connection Kit' folder.
3. Open the 'Fetch' folder.
4. Select the file 'Fetch Prefs'.
5. Drag this file to the 'Preferences' folder inside your System Folder.
6. A dialog will appear asking you if you want to replace these existing items. Click OK.
7. Start the Fetch application.
8. Your old preferences should now be set.
Restoring MacTCP Preferences
The file 'MacTCP Prep' is the preference file for MacTCP (this file contains your original TCP settings). Sometimes this file may become corrupted and the Apple Internet Dialer may not operate correctly. If this problem occurs, you may try restoring your original MacTCP preferences by performing the following steps:
1. Open the 'Backup Folder' folder located in the 'Internet Connection Kit' folder.
2. Select the file 'MacTCP Prep'.
3. Drag the 'MacTCP Prep' file to the 'Preferences' folder inside your System Folder.
4. A dialog will appear asking you if you want to replace this existing item. Click OK.
5. Restart your computer.
Restoring PPP Preferences
The file 'PPP Preferences' is the preference file for PPP (this file contains preference settings for the PPP extension). Sometimes this file may become corrupted and the Apple Internet Dialer may not operate correctly. If this problem occurs, you may try restoring your original PPP preferences by performing the following steps:
1. Open the 'Backup Folder' folder located in the 'Internet Connection Kit' folder.
2. Select the file 'PPP Preferences'.
3. Drag the 'PPP Preferences' file to the 'Preferences' folder inside your System Folder.
4. A dialog will appear asking you if you want to replace this existing item. Click OK.
